Lay of the Land
Second Thursday of every month
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Our new “Lay of the Land” program offers free, one-hour informational events designed to introduce our community to the land trust model of conservation. In particular, the events highlight the Northcoast Regional Land Trust’s work – our mission, purpose, accomplishments, goals – and our vision for a sustainable North Coast future.
Lay of the Land presentations are full of visually stimulating information and includes a nine-minute documentary which shares stories about “This Place We Call Home”, also the title of the film. Humboldt State University Professor Ann Alter (Department of Theatre, Film and Dance) and her Filmmaking III class interviewed different community members for their experience of living on the North Coast. The film explores joy, inspiration, challenge, hardship, and love of the land from unique and diverse perspectives.
Lay of the Land is held at the Northcoast Regional Land Trust office (901 Samoa Blvd, Arcata) the second Thursday of every month from 4 PM to 5 PM. Everyone is welcome, but space is limited. Please call the Northcoast Regional Land Trust, 707-822-2242 or email Linda, to reserve your seat.
